How do you clean varnish off a brush?

I always soak mine in mineral spirits.

Very practical too.

Mineral spirits to clean and remove residue. It's going to be tough if you let it dry. In the future, you can freeze and then thaw to clean.

If the brush is stiff after cleaning, soak in white vinegar.

If you have used oil paint or varnish, follow these tips:

1. Clean the brush with mineral spirits.
2. Dry the bristles/filaments with a clean cloth.
3. Now, take a natural soap and ladder the bristles/filaments.
4. Rinse and repeat the soap step a few times.

Lye Soap works well!

Soak it in mineral spirits or paint remover.
