Painting over paneling is not hard. We did it. First calk all the cracks between the panels. Then paint with aroma free Kilz primer paint. Then paint with what ever color you like! It really is that easy. We even put stencil at the top along the ceiling. The paint really brightened up the home!

I have done this numerous time since the farmhouse I bought was ALL paneling dark YAK! There is no special way to paint it just do it. If you want the lines not to show you could try plaster to fill them then sand. I have to say the second idea is a lot more work. My fourth suggestion which I did in some of the rooms was to turn the paneling around and paint that WORKED ALSO, I PUT A LITTLE TEXTURE ON THE PAINT ON THAT ONE. Good luck and I hope I have helped you.

First is there any lines in the panel and do you want to see it or not. If so you can fill the lines with thin filler then prime the panel. You can put the same color in the prime then paint it.
