What colour to paint wood panels on a dark taupe wall?

I love 2 tones when the bottom half has the panels. I think the color you choose depends on the rest of the decor in your home. What color are your nearby cabinets? I love the white beadboard type look, but if your home has darker browns in it, I would maybe go with something that goes with the rest of the home.

What sort of wood panels? Are they planks of wood or “squares”/wainscoting.?

Cream has just enough yellow in it to complement the taupe. If you paint to match, you are losing the advantage of the paneled wainscoting. Best wishes ☺️
