I have a brick fireplace that has been painted- how to remove paint?

I don't know how to remove the paint. I was thinking that if I pealed some of the paint off I could have the new look of old brick. It's thick and I have some pealed off but not with a lot of success. Any ideas for me.

    I have heard you can use white vinegar to remove paint from brick. You would put it on and then use a good brush to scrub it away. Rinse it with water after. There is also a product called Paint N' Peel Fireplace Cleaner that should be offered at any hardware store like Lowes. Good Luck!
