It is for me anyway. And it is surprising how well it goes with our mahogany wood laminate flooring. Over the years I got so tired of tan, beige, and brown I decided never again. Grey goes so well with everything and for me is a breath of fresh air. Best wishes.
Hi. Grey is a neutral color that will always be one of the go-to colors. But the shade of grey you use needs to be one you're comfortable with, not just what may be trendy.
Yes, it is one of the most popular colors for decor because you can easily add pops of color to make it more bold or you can keep it neutral.
Yes, gray is currently the most popular color...by far. It's the #1 paint color (above white) and it's a great neutral. There are many shades of gray (due to undertones), so there's a nice variety of shades and color depths. The 2 main segments would be warm grays and cool grays.
BTW, it's spelled gray in the US and grey in Canada, England/British English.
I started using shades of gray 18 years ago when I bought my current home way before it became trendy. I am over it. It is a great neutral and is a go to for many. I personally find it too depressing, but that's just me. If you love it, use it, it is your home and you need to be happy!
Grey is my favorite! I love neutrals and light grey with dark grey curtains, and rugs. From here you can add a pop of color for the holidays or seasons. I use orange pillows for the fall, red for the holidays and blue for the winter.
Gray is still popular. I would imagine that it will be for at least 10 more years in people's homes, despite what magazines say. Beige took forever to die. I think you're good.
It is, in varioous shades.
