I used the rust oleum kit for cabinets, it had everything you need in the box aside from paint rollers

I did watch a video using this product. Have your cabinets held up well?

I also used the Rustoleum kit. Be forewarned it is a LOT of work. If you use it, be sure to prep properly or the finish won't stick. Honestly, I don't think I would do it again. I used an Alkyd (Behr) paint for my bathroom vanities and it was SO much easier. I'm thinking of redoing the kitchen with that. The Rustoleum is chipping and fading in places after only a few years.

Thanks for your response. I watched a video and it does look like a lot of work. My kitchen is small but I would hate the chipping.

What are the cabinet surfaces? Are they solid wood, plywood, veneer, plastic? For any of the above, thoroughly clean & degrease. then lightly sand to rough up the surface a bit. What to use to seal/prime will depend on the answer to the first question.

Make sure they are clean and dry. Use acrylic latex paint. Remove the doors and hardware. Mark the doors and cabinets with tape where they go. Lightly sand the doors and cabinets to remove any gloss and roughen the surface for paint. Prime with a stain blocking primer like Zinsser 123, KILZ,or BIN. Then paint with your color. Seal with at least three coats with a water based polyurethane. Use a small foam roller and foam brush for a smooth finish.

I'm a fan of chalk paint!

it's driving me crazy too. They really look great in the beginning. But as I said, it was a tremendous amount of work. I did it by myself so maybe if you have somebody else with you it would be easier. If you decide to do it, number your cabinet doors and drawers. Otherwise you'll have a real bear of a time trying to get them back on. Good luck with it.

Clean them with Murphy Oil Soap. Remove hardware and hinges. Mark doors so they get back to the same spot. Sand. Clean all dust off. Prime. I like Zinsser primer. Paint. Brush or airless sprayer, your choice. I would use an enamel paint for kitchens/baths.
