Need door trim color input (inside part of a exterior door)

I'm painting what is now my mud/laundry room (in the 1st pic, using the color palette)
I want the inside part of the door to look as in pic #2.
I'm hoping someone can throw some ideas my way on the room and door trim color part..

Van Gogh said, "How lovely is yellow. It is the color of the sun" I think a llitle sun in a laundry room would be nice. The grey for trim would be a soothing companion.

Remember, dark colors make a room look smaller - opposite is true for light colors.

I believe you can use a gel stain to achieve that look.

I see two possibilities ... all dependent on the rooms lighting: One, if room has great natural light = sage green walls, gold trim with brown door. Two, if its a dark and artificially lit room = gold walls, red trim and brown door.

Two tips I will give: Take advantage of the sample cans of paint. Usually satin finish available only, but if enough for small wall or trim costs $1 or $2, hoorah. And no rule against getting 2 (maximum) in same color. Tip Two has worked great in my family. Don't paint entire room in same shade. A on wall 1, B on wall 2, mix together to create your own C shade. A different slant, I just did small bathroom in same shade except for wall above shower. A small can was plenty of paint in an accent color. It lengthened a small room.
