    What colors are your furnishings?

Paint with a satin finish will better bounce light, as will light colored rugs, carpet, furniture, glass covered pictures, mirrors, porcelain or high fired ceramics , LED lighting with 2700-3000 Kelvins, and glass fronted cabinets/glass or polished stone tables, etc.

If you keep your bare floor, go with a light wall color for more contrast.

Any drapery rod should be mounted at ceiling height or at least 4-6" above the window, and equally mounted to each side to permit more light to enter.

Light neutral color. Definitely get a sample and paint a 3 foot square to see how you like it. Live with it a couple of days for the full effect. Colors in the "greige" family are huge right now, it's a bridge between grey and beige.

How do I remove glued on rug from cement steps

  • Go with a light color to keep it brighter in the room. Olivia provided some excellent advice. Keep your furnishings on the lighter side too. Use mirrors to bounce light around the room. Get some metallic accents, vase, lamp, table, that will help too. 🌞
