What colors are your walls and décor? If you have a picture of your kitchen, that could give us a better idea of what you're working with.

My kitchen and family room are open and the colors are linen and turquoise.

What are the other colors in your

room that are staying? Backsplash? Curtains?

What a pretty home you have, Peggy! Is there a shade in you countertop that you love? I’d suggest taking a few photos of it with one of the paint companies apps, Sherwin Williams and Behr for example. You can use it

to pull out exact paint colors from your counters or curtains etc.

You could even do two tones - linen on uppers and a darker one on the lowers and/or island.

It depends on a few things. Do you want trendy? If so, black or chocolate brown or gray will work. If you want traditional go for white or a creamy off white. It could also depend on the type of cabinets you have. Flat fronts, shaker or something with a beveled design. Another factor to consider is the amount of light you get in the kitchen. I had very dark brown cabinets from 1981 which I painted a creamy off white that matched my almond color appliances. That was in the mid 90’s. They are still looking fine. They wash up nicely. Growing up in a house where the cabinets were painted so many times they never closed properly, I wanted to be sure I didn’t do that to mine. I felt if I went too trendy, they would have to be repainted too soon. Lighter colors really never go out of style do I felt safe using that. Whatever you pick, just be sure to do the prep work. Don’t paint the doors and drawers without removing them. I have seen several kitchens where they did than and it looked awful. Good luck.

Peggy. White, high gloss, any color you like, but make it high gloss, real easy to clean. Aloha!
