Painting crock?
I got a new slow cooker and the old one isn't donatable. I thought I'd paint the crock and use it as a planter. Is there a specific paint for that?

If you want to use it outdoors, you'll need exterior paint and you will want to seal it with a clear spray paint to help seal it.
Maura is exactly correct. I have seen youtube videos receently where diyers are adding baking soda to paint to give it a bit of texture that resembles some of the very old crockery. The recipe called for 2 Tbsp. of baking soda to 1 cup of paint. I hope you share your project so we can see how it turns out. :)

Craft paint for ceramic will work. A clear spray sealer will protect it.
What a cute idea. I would use an exterior paint. I wish I had thought of that. I had one that had a broken lid that would have been great.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I may have to find some more crocks just to try them out
If you're going to use it outside, I recommend using only Krylon or Rustoleum spray paints.
Hi Jan, you can use acrylic paints to paint it up pretty, you can seal it with a clear coat like polyurethane varnish to protect the paint from the elements
