I really prefer white cabinets. They go with everything!! Painting cabinets isn't something that you want to do all that often, so white is a great option to have for years. HERE IS my son's kitchen with white cabinets, it's a contemporary farmhouse style. HERE IS my last 100 year old house with white cabinets, it is definitely antique style with wood floors, stainless appliances and collectibles.
Various shades of blue go really well with yellow, and blue is often used in rustic style decor. Another popular color is a soft green, either bright like new-sprouting leaves or a darker sage green. I've seen kitchen cabinets in both colors, and they were very attractive. The benefit of paint is that you can get exactly the shade you want. Try getting those little sample bottles (I know Lowe's sells them) and try them in your kitchen, if not on the cabinets, on a couple of white cardboards taped to the cabinet doors. For ideas, do a search for kitchen colors online, go to the websites of the "House" magazines--lots of great pictures. I just did a search for "country kitchens colors" and got lots of hits.
Good luck!
Hi Melissa! I think a nice white color would look great with your kitchen! It's nice and light and will match if you decide to ever repaint your kitchen! I can tell you how to paint your cabinets with Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint! :)
It is super easy to paint with Dixie Belle:
Step one: Clean with White Lightning
Step two: If the surface is slippery, apply two coats of Slick Stick
Step three: Paint one to two coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint
Step four: Use Gator Hide for a water-repellent finish
I am attaching some kitchens that have been painted with Dixie Belle Paint so you can see the outcome.

I think a soft white,I’m not a fan of yellow walls, prefer a light cream.
I would stay with Whites - but make sure it's a white that works well with the yellow wall color. If you are brave/daring you could do Red :)
My vote is also for white cabinets. But not stark white, more like a cream color. That would go well with the walls.
