I also have connecting open rooms.I choose several new styles of earthen tones one room at a time so everything blends. The first step is to take a look at paint colors and get samples. Do a test on the new paper that is available (at least at Home Depot)Once you narrow one color down you will be able to blend everything else.My opinion that is the best way.Should you be interested at taking a look go to Behr.com and research the new Marquee collection. The paint is the best yet.

Paint chips have coordinating color schemes. Buy some sample sizes of paints and see what looks best in your two rooms.

Look at pictures and see what they use in Italy. Get paint samples, too, and go with what your heart tells you that you can live with.

I think I have come to a conclusion, I'm gonna paint the bottom part in my dining room a green tea leave and the top a color called cream in my coffee, the trim will be white, I think I have decided on a color called daughter's for the top part of my kitchen

What color furniture do you have in the room? Also, how much light does these two rooms get? It's hard to be more helpful without seeing a full picture of the rooms. There are so many deciding factors to choosing the right paint color. You should start by narrowing it down to a color family. Then buy several paint samples in that color family. Paint the samples on large poster boards(you can get those at the dollar store) and see which one works best in your rooms.

Nadine, in my dining room the table legs are white and so are the cabinets, in the kitchen my cabinets are a cream color and I'm going to glaze them, I have a fruit border that I really like ...the bottom in the kitchen has a light color beadboard on the bottom
