wow rocky this is awesome, I think any paint would work but instead of clear coat I would use a marine urethane, you have a talent an awesome one, hope this helps xx
I have painted rocks for years - cats and geometric patterns. I wash the rocks and scrub them - then apply a coat of white primer. Then I use ordinary acrylic artist paints, then coat them with a clear coat. They withstand the rain outside but I bring them in before the snow and cold comes. They have lasted years.
I use chalk paint followed by clear spray...works well. I have kept them outside all year long...but I think taking them in during winter is a good idea. So relaxing..so fun..enjoy!
I used the small bottles from Home Depot there for crafts but michaels sells them my rocks staid great no chips I did the most in the beginning of the sommer and they look new
Oil base paint works. I use the pens and then clear coat. Easy and you don’t have to worry about the weather. However I live in California do sno isn’t an issue for me.
Craft Acrylic indoor/outdoor paints from Hobby Lobby. Finish with any type of clear coat to seal against the weather.
I've always used Patio Paints!!!
Do you pour? It looks like that technique and it is beautiful. I use Artist's Loft and just varnish after it dries. But I dont know if that helps for being outside.
Acrylic paint always works and the colors available are limitless
Acrylic paint would be the most durable. You can buy the small bottles at Michaels, Honby Lobby, Joann’s or Walmart.
I think any paint will do, the one you are the most confortable with.
I use Marine varnish on top of that but it wears off after a while. You can use that, and give your beautiful rocks another layer of varnish ones and again or you can pour resine over it..it becomes very hard.
