Sweep the area or wipe it down with a dry cloth, depending on the orientation of the surface. Now you're ready to start painting. Use a paintbrush to apply an initial coat of paving paint (or porch-and-floor enamel) over the perimeter of the area.

Start with a good powerwashing, unless your patio paint is chipping or peeling. When the powerwashing is completely dry, you can start to paint. Paints come in many colors, so pick a color that will have some contrast to the color of your house, and that goes with your patio furniture. You can roll this with a roller and a handle. You can unscrew the handle from a broom, and attach it to the roller. Pick a paint that is weather proof, and I'd roll it twice.

We had troubles with indoor concrete laundry floor paint adhesion and sunporch wood ceiling ling primer and paint failure not covering knots. Good prep and application are important to a sucessfully job. I’d read your paint cans label carefully and follow manufacturer directions regarding sanding priming etc.

Also the customer support numbers of the various paint suppliers are marvelous! I’ve talk to Behr, Rustoleum and Valspar their agents are eager and happy to help with any kind of question or problem. They even supply replacement product if their product should fail.
