Assuming it is that orange clay color..i would carefully sand the old paint smooth. Maybe 220 grit sandpaper by hand. Then find the color in chalk paint which has no shine.

Hi there! I’ve really grown to love valspar spray paint. I’ve used it quite a bit and it makes things look brand new. I’ve not had any problems with it peeling or anything. It has really held up for the long haul 😊 hope this helps!

I would use chalk paint to get the original pottery look.

I agree with Trudi, chalk or mineral paint is fantastic to work with. I have used spray paint in the past and clay pots tend to absorb so much paint that it takes cans and cans of it to stay.

I would go to the Walmart and buy yourself some acrylic paint in a clay color. When painted, seal it with a matte urethane. There is no need to buy expensive paint when you can get the same look from craft paints(acrylics)
