Take one of the cabinet doors off and take it to the paint department at the home improvement store and have them suggest something. They are not only paint pros, but have the best selection of paints and applicators to do the job correctly.

I would not use chalk paint on kitchen cabinets. It will not wear well. Go to a local paint store and get a can of good quality enamel paint that is made for trim and doors. It will wear much better and you don't have to go over it with a wax or a poly finish.

The best part about chalk paint is that you do not need to sand or anything. Just wash it with warm soapy water. You can make your own chalk paint too. There are many great brands as chalk paint is very popular. You might inquire at our local paint store or home improvement store for the best.

Im on a fixed income and have had amazing luck with basic WalMart chalk paint....ALWAYS use a sealer. (they sell as well) What I love is I have mobile home cabinets that have a lot of wear and its VERY forgiving! Cabinet on left was beat up pretty badly
