Whitewashing Shiplap- . Any suggestions on how I can do it?

I think whitewash is pretty cheap. Buy some, read the directions, (maybe twice) use it. Maybe go on "You Tube" for helpful hints. Pinterest may even have pictures of "Whitewash Fails".

If you are installing the ship lap... just do the white wash before you install it... that way all you have to do is touch ups.... most "wash" formulas call for 1 part paint to 3-4 parts water.... I would start with a lighter wash.... you can always apply another coat if it is not enough.

Are you just putting shiplap directly over the studs? That my not be building and fire code. You should put drywall first and the shiplap over it. Better check he codes first.

Spoke with my painter....not going to happen.

I would whitewash it with 50% water 50% paint, and do the boards before I put them up.... easier.

The shiplap is up. The labor to whitewash it would be tremendous! I've spoken to several painters. And, I have spray foam under the shiplap which is perfectly up to code. Thank you all for your comments.
