Everyone has their own taste. Some like wood finishes and some like to have a bit of color :)
Not everyone's taste is the same, we are all different and like different things. In your eyes it may be ruining an item, but to others a masterpiece! At least they are being given a new life and not adding to a landfill somewhere. Even if a piece doesn't thrill me or not my style, I can still appreciate the creativity and hard work that went into the piece.
Today it is in to paint it, tomorrow we will be back to strip and stain.
To each... his or her own taste... I like some of the classic wood pieces in their original finish... but have also seen some really nice transformations using paint.... but only if it was well done..!
