Have you seen anything done with Unicorn SPiT? It is a gel stain. You could have any color you wanted. Simple to use. Just sand, stain and seal with an oil based sealer.
Rub down, Prime then Undercoat then Topcoat. or Stencil, or Add Tiles, Plastic, Metalic or Mirror or Fabric or Decoupage with Mod Podge or Contact?????
Hello! Benjamin Moore makes a line of paints for cabinets like that called Advance. You can get a lot of colors, just check out their website. Regardless of whether you use that paint or another, your cabinets will need to be cleaned, sanded and primed before painting. You could also use Annie Sloan chalk paint, and Valspar now makes a line of paints for that. You don't need to prime if you use chalk paint, just wash the cabinets well.
What styles do You like? Country, Modern, Industrial, etc., it is important to know the look You want and then go from there. With Wooden Vanities I love when the piece is painted, Antiqued, and the top is sanded right down and re-stained to show the gorgeous grain of the wood. You could add Plaster of Paris to any Latex paints You already own and create Chalk Paint for next to nothing. Thickness is to each individuals preference, I prefer more thin layers than one thick one........
This will completely update the piece without it breaking the bank. Clear Wax will give it a clean crisp finish whereas Antique Wax will change it completely depending on how much is used. I usually only put it in the areas I want to pop and or bring out fine details. No matter what You choose HAVE FUN!!
Remember it is only paint and can be sanded back if it is not the look You want.
It is not the end of the World!!
