New color scheme on house exterior is white with dark gray trim. Door is dark gray. Tiled entrance is earth toned. Ugh! Can I paint the tiles to match the new color scheme? Home Depot says no.

You can but you would have to seal them with a product like Famowood.

    What kind of tile?

It would depend on what material the tiles are made of, and the finish on them. More details please, if possible.

Yes, sorry for no details. Tiles are ceramic and are the original tiles for the house which was built in 1980. No glaze that I can see. At least, no shine.

Donna, remove the tile and lay something that you love!

It's really not too hard to lay the new tile (stone, wood, etc). Pulling up the old will be a bit of work but not rocket science. Use sledge hammer and break it up to remove it. Rent an angle grinder with a masonry grinding cup to ckean up leftover masonry. You need to wear a face mask (like the one for lead, not paper) , safety glasses, gloves, and knee pads (the knee pads are optional but nice!) It's a messy job but easy to do. Once you have leveled the surface you can lay down your beautiful new entry flooring that matches your house!

Thank you, Kim. This is what I was hoping to avoid, but you make it sound doable. Thanks again.
