Yes you can. I've found 2 different spray paints that work well. Rust-Oleum Fabric & Vinyl Flexible Coating Gloss and HomeShades Spray Paint
Hi Lynne I tried painting my own thrift store lamp shades in the passed and never could get the paint even enough (no matter how many coats). It looked fine as long as the light was off but when the light was on the shades came out blotchy. I learned my lesson and now cover them in fabric instead.

Yes you can! There is such a variety of paints available for fabric these days. I would visit a good fabric, craft or hobby store (or go on line and read reviews) before purchasing.

I agree with Grandma above. I would first wash them and see if the stain comes out. If it does I would dye them. Rits dye.
