How can I paint my electric baseboard heaters?

My husband told me that it is ok to paint electric baseboard heaters with regular wall paint. Has anyone done this ? Is it safe ? Does the paint stay ok, or does it bubble up ? I don't Keep my heat too high , usually 65° or lower.I would love to do this , and have them blend in with the wall color .

Use paint thag already has the primer in it
No problem painting them. You may need to lightly sand to remove any gloss. A green kitchen scrubby is enough. Prime with kilz primer if they are dark and your going light. Otherwise no primer needed. Me and my crew painted tons of baseboard heaters, radiators, and wall heaters. Many were painted same wall color to make them "disappear" or baseboard color. They never get hot enough to damage the paint. Actually the paint bonds better as they heat up.
