Make sure they are clean and dry. Remove the doors and hardware. Mark the doors and cabinets with tape where they go. Lightly sand the doors and cabinets to remove any gloss and roughen the surface for paint with 120- to 220-grit sandpaper. Use a tack cloth or damp rag to remove dust after sanding. Prime with a stain blocking primer like Zinsser 123, KILZ,or BIN and have it tinted to the color of the top coat. This will prevent dark or stained surfaces from showing through the top coat. Acrylic, or water-base, paints are low-fume and clean up easily with water. Alkyd, or oil-base, paints require good ventilation because the paint contains solvents that can irritate your lungs and make you feel sick. Alkyd options require mineral spirits for cleanup, but they provide a hard, durable paint finish. Whichever you use, buy the best-quality paint you can afford for a lasting kitchen cabinet finish. Seal with at least three coats with a water based polyurethane. Use a small foam roller and foam brush for a smooth finish.

Yes, I know people who have. Just make sure you prep the cabinets well and then seal after done

yes, you can use many different kinds and brands of paint but be sure to clean piece well and sand it at least lightly! And wipe down after sanding to remove dust! The better the prep work the better your piece will turn out! I always use a good primer before painting even if paint has primer in it! Better safe then sorry!

Brand is not important. Follow William's guidelines. If you use a latex or acrylic paint, cabinets are more durable with a gloss enamel paint. You can also use a semi-gloss, however check your base. enamel acrylic latex will be your best choice.

If you are going to use a primer you might have it tinted a few shades lighter than the shade of your paint color. This makes it easier to cover than having to cover white primer.

Of course. Ben Moore has many lines of paints. In our area, with huge home improvement stores, you have to search/ask for it specifically. We have one tiny Benjamin Moore Paint store that I know of, but they can order anything. ☺️

Indeed you can. I always use (well mostly) Benjamin Moore paint and my entire kitchen has been painted with it.

Just came back to say that I don't find it necessary to use more than one coat (unless I have primed bare wood) these shelves have been painted probably 30 years, but this is probably oil paint as I used to use that always till they made the smell of oil paint noxious.
