Can I paint over plastic wood-look door jambs and baseboards?
We would like to replace ugly wood-grain look cheap slab interior doors with white 6 panel doors. But all the trim, baseboards, and door jambs are a fake kind of plasticy woodtone. Can they be painted white since they aren't real wood?

Yes, I've done it. Prime first and then paint.
This type of trom normally has a slick, shiny finish, so you will have to sand it down to get rid of it so the paint will adhere. I would use a fairly aggressive grit such as a 100-grit. If you use too course sandpaper it might gouge the trim too deeply and that will be visible through the paint.
Yes
Hi Terry. They sure can. I have actually used this type of molding due to budget reasons. Just prime them first. I would recommend using a oil base primer. I have better luck with that. Good Luck.
