Can I stain or paint a concrete floor?
I previously sealed a large area of my basement before having it carpeted. Now I would like to paint or stain another basement room. I read somewhere that if I sealed, stained or painted a large area of a basement that the floor would crack. Is this true?

I don't think so but paint might not stick as well as it would if unsealed. Mat peel.
Only if it's a new pour and hasn't cured. The moisture must escape slowly for the slab to cure properly. Old concrete must be clean and dry before painting or staining.
