Oh Dear! I would not want to. Slate tiles are already slick especially if wet & to add varnish on top of that it would Really be slick.
Yes. Depending on how or if you already sealed the slate tiles and depending on if you do or don't want a wet look. I would not it will make them slippery.
I would call a tile retailer/installer and explain to them the look you want and they can recommend a product.
I would be worried that they would be slippery. Do you have any other ideas?
