Go to a good paint store, where they actually know what they're talking about. Ask them, the process involves cleaning thoroughly to remove all traces of soap film, lightly sanding to roughen the fiberglass, washing it down with a damp rag to collect the sanding dust, and finally applying a 2 part , mix just before using, epoxy based paint. Before sanding, remove the drain cover, and remember the purpose of the sanding is a deglazing of the surface. Smooth is not inherent in these pans for slip prevention. Sand with 120 grit wet/dry emory cloth type sandpaper, available at any auto parts store. This is cloth backed sandpaper, you tear it like a rag. You can cut it w/ scissors but it dulls the scissors. About the paint; follow the mgr instructions to the letter. This is not ordinary paint in that it is epoxy base, when you are finished, walk away, there's no redo with epoxy. Throw bush and any remaining paint away AFTER the remainder of the paint has hardened in the can. Good luck. BTW, I did an old household tub with this paint 2 1/2 years ago, white over pink. Still looks great.
You can try. The shower pan should be totally clean and dry. Clean out the drain, too. It's probably loaded with black gunk and hair. Yuck. Turn off the water if you can.
Shop the Rustoleum aisle. They make so many speciality paints, including several for plastics. If you can find a professional bathroom remodeler or variety plumber, ask what to use.
Follow all directions carefully and completely. Why did I say, "You can try"? So many things can go wrong when dealing with old materials. Plastic (acrylics, epoxy, vinyl, etc.) is not as forgiving as wood. Plus water is more powerful than you might think, and can break down anything with enough time and pressure. Think Grand Canyon.
Check the the price of a new shower pan, just in case. But a can of paint and some new caulk don't cost much. Best wishes 😇
The all weather porch paint. It almost seals it like a truck bed liner. I did mama's shower like that gripped the whole time too. She was right it worked great. Loooks great too.
