Can you paint bathroom tile? How to remove scratch marks on steel tub

My home was built in 1950 and still has the original bathroom tile. It is in good condition but I'm tired of peach and black tile. Also when I removed the old shower doors from the tub it scratched the top edge of the steel tub. How can I remove those marks? The tub is in excellent condition. Thank you
