Naturally a matter of taste and preferences, I would suggest starting with some paint SWATCHES from the store. Get all the colors that you think you might like and place them in the areas to he painted: cabinets and walls, etc. KEEP them there for at least a couple of days and nights to be able to see these swatches in ALL different lights. Daylight, Afternoon, Early Evening, Night time, etc. This may give you a chance to see hiw these swatches look throughout a 24 hr cycyle and with your other lighting on. If you want to go another step further or just do this step, you can choose swatches, and most can be made into mini cans as samples (to pay), to actually paint on the surfaces you're interested in. Be prepared to "remove" if not interested in the colors chosen, etc. There are many options! Ask a qualified representative in the paint section of a home store. Good luck and have fun!😊

The paint for your kitchen walls can be the same stuff you'd use on the walls of any other room in your home. But for the cupboards, I'd suggest enamel paint. It's extra hard and durable once it dries. We used Behr primer and Behr paint for our kitchen cabinets.

I suggest Benjamin Moore Advance, or Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Trim and Door Enamel for the cabinets. Make sure to use a good bonding primer first.
