Has anyone ever heard of distressing wall paint?

I want to paint a black stripe on my son's bedroom wall. I just was wondering if there's a way to make it look a little distressed or worn, not so crisp and bold looking. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance! :)

Thank you! I guess I was wondering if there's a way to get that distressed look u see on wood, but on the actual wall... just haven't been able to put my finger on a tutorial for what I'm thinking of....might have to try the trial and error way...:)

I don't see any reason you couldn't either paint (for sure) chalk paint stripe and go at it with a scrubbie side of a sponge, back to the undelying colour/surface or use flat latex (I've heard this works, but never tried it).Just tape off your stripe, and have at it with sponge, scrubbie or finer grit sandpaper. Make sure your base coat is cured and tought!

Here's an idea: Paint a section of the stripe. While it is wet, cover it with a length of Sara wrap and smush it sround. It will make tiny designs in the paint, and when you lift it off, will take some of the paint with it.
