I would think that you would have to clean it well and let it dry. Then depending on the material it is (plastic or metal) I would buy paint that works on that and brush or spray it on. Having a clean dry surface and the correct paint should do it.

Are you asking about painting a brass bed? Clean well to remove all oils, polish ,etc. Use metal spray primer, than use silver spray paint.
