I’m trying reword what I was asking up above.
Hello most times ceilings are painted with a roller and pole. The roller has a variable texture…that would be suggested for the surface type that you are working with.
If you have some 3D decorative element it might be best to post a photo to offer additional information.
A raised element might need paint brush paint application.
here is info for you

without seeing a photo of the ceiling it is hard to know what you need maybe you should call professional painters in
A roller with a thick nap to it will work well. Without knowing the depth of the shell design, it's difficult to know if just a roller will get into all the crevices. You may need to also use a brush to get adequate coverage. An extension pole for your roller will save you a lot of work!
As others have said it's hard to know how deep the pattern is, but a roller is where I'd start. However, I'd inquire at the paint shop and show them a photo. They may have a tool to recommend that would do the job with ease.
You can use a stamp roller or a stamp that you repeat manually. Try "Artistic Painting Studio", they have a huge variety of rollers.
Use a paint sprayer or a long-handled foam brush. If you can, dust the ceiling first.

Use a thick nap roller. 1/2" to 3/4" roller cover. You can screw a broomstick to the handle of the roller making painting easier.
Use a roller brush with a long extension pole

Spray would be the best
The same as you would paint a flat one use a roller paint with a brush first all the edges around switches any thing you can’t paint with the roller then roll the whole ceiling .
