You can prime & paint it as it stands, with the grooves in the paneling or you can use some drywall compound to fill in those lines, let dry (they have fast drying compound) lightly sand, prime & paint .

Clean them with Krud Kutter first. Then paint

. Some paints have primer in them. My sister in law left the grooves.

What I did in my daughters modular home. Removed the strips covering the panel seams. Filled the seams with no shrink drywall patching compound. Let it dry overnight. Then used a damp sponge ti smooth the patch. Primed whe wall with Kilz primer then painted with wall paint.

Just clean and paint the paneling. It will look fantastic. Filling the gaps is an exercise in futility. If you ever move the trailer, the drywall compound will crack and you will see every groove or gap.

wash it, prime it and paint it...done (filling the grooves is a waste of time)

I painted dark paneling in my previous home. I do recommend a good cleaning (Krud Kutter or whatever but rinse well!), a very light sanding for adhesion and a great primer before painting.

Unless you are OCD with incredible patience, skip trying to fill the grooves. Once the paint is on you won't really notice them as you'll be loving the new color! 😎
