How do I paint my wooden kitchen cabinets and what paint to use?

A clerk at any paint store, Home Depot, ACE Hardware or Lowe’s store will be knowledgeable & can lead you in the right direction as well as advise you as to whether or not you will need to lightly sand them for a better outcome.

Hi Dka, I am just about to paint my cabinets with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. It needs no sanding and no primer so is just up my street, seeing as I hate doing all that and don't like the fumes oil paints give out. They have wonderful colors, too. Have a look on Amazon. Also try Dixie Bell and General Finishes. All highly recommended for kitchens. Good luck.

If they’re really cherry, do you want to consider stripping them and putting a semi-transparent lighter stain on them? Cherry is highly prized.

Place all hardware in a sealed container

Spray paint provides a smoother finish. Consult a paint store like Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore for the best paint for this type of job.
