How do I paint over cedar paneling?
The interior walls of our home are the original 1977 cedar paneling. It isn’t too bad in most of the house, but we’d like to paint over it in our bedroom loft with a shade of white. I’m afraid that even with a good primer the orange tint from the cedar will leak through. How do I prevent that?

Use two coats of a good quality primer followed by two coats of paint.
Make sure the wood is very clean, first. Lightly sand to remove the sheen. 😄
THAT is what primer is for! ...to not have bleed-through! (Yes, primer is a hassle, but worth it.)
Got 2 in 1 primer and paint mix
Thanks for the answers. I have used primer over stained wood in the past and several coats did not prevent bleed through. So...I guess I'll test a small area before I paint the entire room.
