Hmm....this could be a neat time to try that 'ombre' effect (that we're seeing in hair styles more and more)! I'd get lighter going up to help prevent it from feeling confined. Please post pics!
Do you mean a Tray Ceiling, one that is inset upeards with a “rim” ? If so, no real rules, but typically lower and upper levels are the same and the interior “ledge” is painted a contrast color or same as wall colors.
Pinterest.com should have some ideas for you too.... Also.. many of the paint companies/manufacturers have an app that can show you how certain colors will look in your home.... upload a picture and change the color....TRY every combination... . print out each new configuration to compare side by side... you will find one that you really like .
In this instance, by painting your darker
color up top and then l might use a mid tone Down to the walls
Wonderful opportunity to paint the entire room and ceiling the same color. Surprisingly the ceiling will 'disappear' and the room will feel much larger. I've dine this and it's pleasing to the eye. But there are no painting rules.
Your Home, Your Rules! Go for what appeals to you. Best of luck.
I understand. Maybe the suggestion of the tri color would look nice. Three different shades of the same color. Medium on the walls, lighter on the angled walls, and lightest on the ceiling peak. OR you could paint the peak a pale shade of blue adding white clouds as in a faux window design. Another thought would be to nail up flooring and paint it to look like shiplap which is popular right now. So many choices. Sorry. Best of luck.
Thank you love all the ideas
