Look for Gloss paint. Start with internal panels then frame from top to bottom
check with your local hardware store. I have used an oil based paint in the past and a primer
Is the door inside or outside? Just use the appropriate interior or exterior house paint. Sand the door thoroughly, apply a coat of primer if your paint isn't paint and primer in one--most are. I go over any detailing with a brush, to be sure I get every nook and cranny, then use a small roller to paint the body of it. Don't forget the edges! Make sure it's completely dry before you close the door.
Ask about the type paint where you buy the paint. I carefully tape around lock and handle before painting. Some people prefer to remove the door, all hardware paint on a table outside. I did mine inside. Be sure to have good ventilation. Winter is not a good time to paint if you don't remove the door. If a brand new door, I'd use a primer coat before painting, otherwise I do two coats. I paint side to side, some paint up to down.
