I wash my walls down with TSP. Then rinse with clean water and cloth . Removes any greasy fingerprints, dirt and shine.
TSP trisodium phosphate it is a really strong cleaner. You can get it at Home depot usually around the paint department where they have the cleaners and wall prep. Follow the directions on the box it will take the sheen off of gloss paint removes that greasy film in kitchens.
