    Your question got cut off. But, you should wipe them down well, some recommend using TSP to get all of the grease off. Give a light sanding and rewipe down. Then use a good adhesion primer. When that dries, paint!

    Yes you can wipe them down but use chalk paint and seal them after with any type of urethane, or you can also try a new product by Kilz called Tribute which many have been happy with. Got primer and satin finish so it is one step and no prep as well.

    When my cabinets were painted (over 10 years ago) we used an oil-based paint - pain to clean brushes, but it certainly has lasted well. We did two coats of paint with no additional sealers.
