I have a red wall in my bedroom ,what is needed to change the color?

    You will need a separate primer, especially if you plan on going a lot lighter. Prime it first. Then to be safe also choose a paint with a built in primer, Sherwin Williams and most others sell this kind. You may still need a couple of coats, but it's hard to say. It depends on how porous or non-porous your walls are to how the paint goes on.

    Definitely a primer coat or two! Check at your paint store and let them know that you are painting over red and they can help you choose a high quality primer.

    I agree! A good stain blocking primer like Zinsser 123 or BIN.

    I used a Valspar primer and paint in one over raspberry walls. 2 coats and done!
