I'm using this cabinet to store my jewelry. I'd like to paint the drawers in multiple colors. I'd also like to add some cute knobs on the drawers where the pull is missing. Can I paint this without using spray paint? Suggestions needed.

Yes you can. You will have to ask at hardware store for medal paint. Spray paint would be easier but you don't want to take drawers out. Just pull out the ones you want to paint (not take out) the same color & paint with brush. Let dry & do the next set & etc. Good luck.

Hi Sugargran, I don't know if your aware, but that cabinet is worth $300 or more. I would try to replace the missing pulls. If this isn't a factor, you may want to consider colorful contact paper! It won't have the harmful fumes you get from paints and sprays that could make you sick. Here's a link with an large variety of colors/patterns and ideas: https://www.google.com/search?q=colorful+contact+paper&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS781US781&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwitmZGz2qTZAhWByVMKHfLuCWsQsAQImQI&biw=1600&bih=794

Determine if the cabinet is steel by using a magnet. If it is steel use oil based primer to avoid causing rust. Personally, I like to use foam rollers. Sometimes they leave a little texture and I like that. I don't even mess with cleaning anything used to spread oil based primers and paints. When I am finished painting I just slip a Zip-loc bag over the roller and pull it off and toss it. I will clean a paint brush if it is a good one and not just a sacrifice brush.
