Put in a white wainscoting panels on the bottom, paint the ceiling white and paint the upper half of the wall a light gray. Light, neutral colors will make the room feel larger and you can decorate with any number of colors without having to re-paint! If you don't want to use wainscoting, you could replace that with faux ship lap made from pallet wood. You could paint/stain the pallet wood all one color or multiple colors like this https://www.hometalk.com/diy/decorate/walls/pallet-wall-1998234?r=1.
Pallet Wall/Reclaimed Wood
Shiplap is the trend right now. I have seen a lot of pics where people just make one feature wall with shiplap. Anything made with wood and chicken wire is also considered country. Hope these ideas help you. Good luck.
This project will be really fun if you do some research on-line. First you need to select a color scheme that you love & makes the bathroom appear larger. From that point you go wild & make it your own.
