What kind if paint should I use to paint my child's bedroom

I'm trying to go from light purple to white I went and bought a pint of INTERIOR Latex Wall & Trim Paint Accent Base Flat but it don't even attempt to cover it up

    use kilz primer

    A good compromise for rooms that will get a lot of wear-and-tear from kids is to use a satin finish, or eggshell, which is a bit more flat than satin. These finishes are durable when cleaning, stain resistant, and most likely to hide the paint and imperfections you're painting over.

    Behr paint from Home Depot has paint and primer in one. i use, covers well

    Yes, get a good primer on before you paint it. You CAN eventually cover up previous paint color but it'll take more coats of paint.

    Agree with the primer. A good stain blocking primer. Then paint.
