use a latex enamel (not regular wall paint) which will flow better and come out smoother. Benjamin Moore has an excellent enamel called Advance and I have used it with great results.

I agree with Jeanie, use a good latex enamel. I used a satin finish and it's lasted five years with no problems at all. Be certain to prep really well. It's the boring part, but necessary! I de-greased ours with Krud Killer and then lightly sanded and wiped down before painting.

We live in a double wide trailer, an old one, and are going to paint the walls and paint the cabinets because we can't afford new ones. Some of them look like they are falling apart at the edges. What type of paint should we use on these cheap looking cabinets? Is there any hope of them looking good when we finish?
