Stairs Renovation

My hall was too dark so I decided to paint the stairs
I didn't like the carpet so I got rid of it!
It doesn't look good now but it can't look worst :-)
Painted the spindles and banister with my little helper
Painted the steps with Annie Sloan chalk paint and varnished several times
Wallpapered the front of the steps
This is the wallpaper I used, it can be painted or varnished and it looks lovely
Ta-da! Love them now .....
....and it looks so much brighter
Enjoyed the project?

This looks really good! My husband and I planned to redo the staircase at home. We even got civil engineering textbooks, discussed it for 2 months, made drawings, but then chickened out when the rains started. After seeing your project, I feel we should start again. In a methodical fashion. Slowly. But we should do it. Thanks for making it look possible!

Thank you for the inspiration! You did a beautiful job! I hope mine looks as good. Your staircase is almost identical to mine and I have been wanting to take my carpet out as well. I have already started sanding the banister.
