We have lived in our home for 12 years and there were some things that we just never quite knew what to do with! This includes the cedar wood panelling in our kitchen. It’s a feature wall from the 1980s and I have been stuck, so I never did anything.
It’s a nice enough wall, but I felt it was way too dark and was hard to work with.
I began by moving the furniture out of the way. I lightly sanded the wall and wiped the whole wall, floors and surrounding area to remove dust particles.
I taped off the edges around the sides and top using painters tape. You can see in this picture I have already began to paint but you get the idea.
For this project, I used eggshell Wedding White paint with primer. I painted 2 coats but went back over it a third time, because the oil had bled through a little. It left a bit of a yellow tone, but the third coat covered it nicely.
This was taken after the first coat. You might not be able to see the yellow tone but I can! it sure looks fresh and the space is wide open now!
Here is my finished project! I am so happy with it! I still want to add something if to the wall, possibly black and teal picture frames, but it gives a definite cottage feel! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
