Master Bedroom Accent Wall
This was one of the simplest DIY’s I have done, and it completely transformed our bedroom! It went from cute, to an elegant sanctuary. Check it out!
Our black accent wall, topped with this intricate crown molding, creates such an elegant feel. I’ve always wanted an adult bedroom and it has only taken me 41 years to create it!!
This is our bedroom before…
We taped off the area to paint. We choose to paint the wall only a few feet above our bed and stopped there. We wanted it to feel like a headboard.
I measured the width of the wall, and bought enough crown molding to go all the way across. I then painted the trim black.
I used no show nails, and attached this molding to the wall. I probably nailed a nail every foot or so. I then dabbled a little wood putty over the nails and painted them black. It’s seamless! You can do this before or after painting the wall.
Then we painted the wall!
BEFORE
AFTER! What a difference!

I like it but if I paint, I would like to paint it up to the ceiling and add the crown molding. You did a great job and gave me an idea. Thank you Bettyann

Very nice and modern! I love your comforter or duvet cover. Where did you get it? It would go so well with my towels and shower curtain in adjoining bathroom.
Hi!
what color black did you use? TIA!
I think a flatter paint would look better with a stained crown molding. Just would add more interest. And why is the “after” picture only half of the wall?
