I got extra thick vinyl table cloths at a rummage for 4/$1! They work great!

just an up date.....a painter's drop cloth- 100% cotton will absorb the paint, spread it out more. plastic sheeting /tables clothes etc won't absorb and you are more likely to have the dried paint chip off in places that's really hard to clean.
