Any suggestions on how to lighten the color of this storage organizer?
I bought this Better Home & Garden Storage Organizer online. I previously bought one from the same brand under the same color "natural" which is more of an off-white.
This is a greyish-tan color with some wood veining. I don't know if painting would be the best way or not. I would like it to be closer to the color of the original storage organizer that I bought (off-white color). I still need to assemble this. Any suggestions?

You can try a wood brightener or a white or pickling stain if it's unfinished. Do a small test in an unseen spot first to see how it matches up. If it's sealed, you could try a whitewash possibly, giving it a light sanding first.
I would white wash it or paint it to match the other one. Or paint both
White-wash it. Mix paint and water 50/50. Apply with a brush and wipe off with a cloth until you have the desired color.
I agree with Dee. White wash it or paint bought one color.
You could paint both as a solution.
If you want the two to match perfectly you should paint them but if you only care if they are similar in their shade white wash them. I think a few different shades on your natural wood products looks good.
Dilute white paint and paint on then wipe off immediately. Try it on the bottom or back first to see if that is the look you want. Chalk paint is easily thinned with water.
Since you are wanting an off-white color, you might consider white washing. Mix latex white paint and water 50/50 to paint it.
