There isnt enough space to write in. After the seeds are dried, what do I have to add to the soil to get the plant started. I have been trying everywhere, but they only show pictures. Thanks, Arlene Buono

Since you are in MA I assumed you starting them indoors: Containers - Either purchased pots or flats or containers you've saved, like egg cartons and yogurt cups. Used pots should be cleaned and disinfected by soaking in 1 part bleach to 10 parts water. Potting Mix - Seeds do best in a soilless mix where there are fewer inherent problems than with garden soil Seeds - Your choice Labels/markers - Trust me, you won't remember what's what Plastic Bags or Covers - These will trap warmth and humidity where the seeds need it Water Light Source - If you don't have a bright window, you will need some kind of florescent or high density plant light

What seeds are you drying? It really depends on what you have as to the best time and method of starting them.

you could use peat pots or any type of container (be sure to punch holes in the bottom. I've had trouble using egg cartons as they seem to shallow. Since I grow most everything from seed in my hobby greenhouse, I use Parks biodome seed starting stuff - expensive but now I just have to buy their plugs. Most seeds don't really need light to germinate (google as there are always exceptions) but they do need warmth - use the top of your frig or a heating mat.

@Louise Biernesser Hi, I thiought I would send a msg instead of the comment.Don't you use a plug for every type of plant you are growing? Please explain, thanks, Arlene Buono

You're not giving us enough information to help you. What kind of seeds are you wanting to plant? Where are you planting them? In the garden, in pots, in flats? Outdoors, indoors, in a greenhouse? If you're using a commercial potting soil why would you want to add anything to it?

I took seeds out of the fresh lemons and they said to put it in soil, but I didn't know if they added anything to it, and I wasn't sure what to do, but thanks

@Arlene Buono Ah...Ok, I'd just fill a pot with commercial potting soil, tamp it down gently, poke a hole in the middle about an inch deep, put the seed in the hole & fill it up, water it in & then keep the soil moist but not wet until it sprouts. Good luck.
